UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group is seeking an Interim Controller for a remote engagement with a client of UHY. The candidate will bring strong government accounting experience, a hands-on approach to cleaning up accounts, and expertise in full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.

This role will run from June 2025 through the current period, overseeing reconciliations, process improvement, collaboration with the Director of Finance, and preparation for audits while maintaining

Qualifications

• Strong experience with full-cycle accounting and financial reporting.
• Governmental accounting experience required.
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of complex issues.
• Comfortable in an environment where processes and systems are still being developed.

Responsibilities

• Lead a comprehensive accounting cleanup from June 2025 through the current period.
• Perform and correct bank reconciliations and resolve historical discrepancies.
• Bring accounting records up to date and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Oversee the full accounting cycle and establish consistent accounting processes.
• Partner with the Director of Finance to rebuild and strengthen the accounting function.
• Support accounting activities related to client funds and fiduciary responsibilities.
• Review existing accounting processes and identify additional resources needed.
• Support audit preparation and resolution of outstanding financial reporting issues.
