Job summary

Guidehealth is a data-powered healthcare company focusing on value-based care. The Intake Coordinator reviews referrals and pre-certifications for Blue Cross HMO, handling clerical tasks and accurate data entry.

You will screen referrals, support providers, maintain confidentiality, and ensure coding accuracy (ICD-10, CPT). This is a fully remote role with competitive hourly pay and benefits for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
• Strong knowledge of HMO.
• Basic Excel and PDF Converter or Adobe Pro.
• Organized and task oriented.
• Able to work independently.
• Understanding of CPT and ICD-9 coding is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Initiate pre-review screening on complex referrals and route to the Clinical Services Department for review and finalization.
• Provide clerical support with data entry and calls.
• Enter referrals and precertifications using ICD-10 and CPT coding.
• Maintain confidentiality of all health information.
• Assist physician offices with referral and precertifications questions.
• Collaborate with Provider Relations and Claims to resolve discrepancies between referrals, precertifications and claims.
• Assist the Clinical Services Department nursing staff with internal referral manuals.
• Adhere to audit procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
