Qualifikationen

• Must have 2-year/Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• 1.5 years of related healthcare experience.
• Medical terminology knowledge is highly preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication with patients, Dr offices and hospital staff.

Aufgaben

• Verify insurance eligibility online or by phone and document findings.
• Identify primary and secondary insurance and input information in the system.
• Obtain claim numbers and verify benefits for Workmen’s Comp and Auto Insurance.
• Determine need for pre-authorization and document appropriately.
• Follow up on verification issues and communicate with relevant departments.
• Refer patients to Financial Counselors for financial assistance or payment plans when appropriate.
• Maintain up-to-date billing requirements with major carriers (Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Medicare, Medicaid, etc.).
• Perform online insurance verification and coordinate with Utilization Management as needed.
