Placements24 is seeking an Insurance Data Scientist for a fully remote role in the United States. You will analyze large datasets, build predictive models for risk, pricing, fraud detection, and customer analytics, and deploy models to production.

The ideal candidate has advanced degrees in data science or related fields, strong programming skills (Python/R/SQL), and experience with ML frameworks. You will collaborate with stakeholders, visualize findings, ensure data quality, and stay current

Qualifications

• Master's or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Data Scientist, preferably in insurance or financial services.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and SQL.
• Experience with ML libraries and frameworks (Scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• Strong understanding of statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, and experimental design.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Matplotlib).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and manage remote projects.

Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and transform large structured and unstructured data.
• Develop and implement advanced statistical models and ML algorithms for predictive analytics.
• Apply data science to risk modeling, pricing optimization, fraud detection, and customer segmentation.
• Build and deploy models to production environments and monitor performance.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate needs into data science solutions.
• Visualize and communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Identify opportunities for data-driven improvements in processes and products.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest data science advancements in AI.
• Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the data science community.
