Job summary

Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking an Insurance Coordinator to manage denied insurance claims, appeals, and information requests to secure reimbursement. After training, the role becomes fully remote; must reside in Ohio and travel to Westerville for training.

This is a full-time position, Monday–Friday 8am–4:30pm, focusing on resolving billing issues, liaising with payers and patients, updating demographics, and ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required or preferred.
• 1 year experience in a health care setting preferred, not required.
• 1 year experience in customer service preferred, not required.
• 1 year proven experience in collections preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Work listing of aged accounts and handle incoming correspondence from insurance payers and/or sites to resolve any billing issues that delay reimbursement.
• Analyze patient accounts, identify billing issues, and determine solutions with insurance companies. Take actions such as re-filing claims, requesting adjustments, refunds, etc.
• Update patient demographic information and make necessary system corrections to the patient account.
• Act as a liaison between patient and payer to provide clear and accurate billing information to expedite payment.
• Conduct research to provide patient and/or physician with clear account information.
• Report trends or issues to management regarding insurance claims.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain confidentiality of financial and medical information.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
