Job summary

ICF is seeking an Instructional Systems Designer to create engaging training content with emphasis on user-centered design, UX, and accessibility for diverse learners.

The role involves designing classroom, online, and performance support materials, ensuring SCORM conformance and Section 508 compliance, and leveraging AI to accelerate development. You will work under a Program Manager to deliver effective learning solutions for public and private sector clients.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of applicable work experience.
• Knowledge of human-computer interaction and performance-centered design.
• Apply instructional design principles to gaming and simulation environments.
• Leverage AI to streamline the training development process.
• Experience with rapid development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise).
• Knowledge of Section 508 requirements as applied to course design and development.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team under the supervision of a Program Manager.
• Design instructional material for customized training courses.
• Assess learning needs to design, develop, deliver, and evaluate employee courses and instructional packages to enhance services.
• Create new and revise existing training programs and curricula.
• Ensure training programs adhere to ISD practices and principles; validate needs with program offices.
• Provide consultation and perform instructional design functions.
• Analyze current and future learning needs with strategic/tactical project planning for training support.
• Develop and review products for style, storyboard quality, and SCORM/508 compliance.
• Develop clear linear and non-linear storyboards for programmers and online developers.
