Job summary

Tundra Federal, an Akima company, is seeking an Installation Engineer to provide storage and virtualization expertise on-site for our USAF client. The role requires extensive travel and the ability to work in a military-structured environment.

Responsibilities include installing, configuring, and testing Dell and VMware solutions, developing implementation docs, and coordinating with a two-person install team across multiple time zones.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in an operational environment supporting Dell and VMware solutions
• HS or equivalent required
• Degree in CS or related field preferred
• Security+ certification required or obtainable within 30 days of hire
• Ability to work independently and in a DoD-style environment
• VMware vSphere7/8 – 2+ years experience
• Dell OEM certification or 2 years deploying similar systems
• VMware VCP a plus
• Active SECRET security clearance
• DoD/USAF experience a plus
• US passport required
• 50% CONUS travel (may include territories)

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and test Dell and VMware solutions onsite
• Develop implementation documentation and drawings
• Travel to sites to support installations
• Coordinate with team across time zones
• Provide site readiness and teleconference support
• Generate reporting information for stakeholders
• Work in a military structured environment
