Job summary

GeBBS Healthcare Solutions is seeking an experienced Facility Inpatient Coder to join our remote coding team. This is a full-time opportunity, with part-time consideration (minimum 20 hours per week).

Responsibilities include reviewing and coding acute care inpatient records, assigning ICD-10-CM/PCS codes, MS-DRGs, and POA indicators. You will analyze documentation and ensure compliance while maintaining productivity and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of acute care inpatient facility coding experience.
• Proficient in ICD-10-CM/ICD-10-PCS coding.
• MS-DRG assignment and UHDDS reporting.
• Knowledge of CMS and payer-specific coding guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Review and accurately code acute care inpatient medical records.
• Assign ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes and ICD-10-PCS procedure codes in accordance with Official Coding Guidelines, UHDDS, CMS, and payer requirements.
• Accurately assign MS-DRGs, POA indicators, discharge disposition, and quality-related data elements.
• Analyze physician documentation to ensure complete and compliant code assignment.
• Identify documentation opportunities and collaborate with CDI teams when appropriate.
• Maintain productivity and coding quality standards while meeting established turnaround times.
• Stay current on coding regulations, payer updates, and industry best practices.
