Job summary

Henry Ford Health seeks a Coordinator of Inpatient Coding Quality & Education to drive accurate medical record coding across inpatient and ambulatory sites, owning the coding reimbursement process and leading educational initiatives.

The role focuses on improving documentation practices, mentoring providers and coding staff, and shaping a culture of excellence within a fully remote-capable environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum five (5) years inpatient coding experience.
• Certification as RHIT, RHIA, or CCS required.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate inpatient and outpatient coded medical records flow for accurate billing and reimbursement.
• Monitor data quality: completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of documentation and codes.
• Serve as liaison between coding operations and reimbursement processes to drive improvements.
• Design, deliver, and evaluate educational programs to improve documentation and coding quality.
• Mentor clinical providers and coding staff on best practices in coding and compliance.
• Identify gaps, implement solutions, and measure impact of quality initiatives.
