Job summary

Henry Ford Health in Michigan is seeking a remote Coding Coordinator of Quality & Education to review coding and denials and drive improvements. You will ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely submission of medical data for inpatient discharges and outpatient encounters across hospital and ambulatory sites.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree in healthcare related field or two years coding experience may be considered in lieu of education.
• Two years of specialty coding certification or experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, disease processes, medical terminology, pharmacology, and coding systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate flow of coded medical record information to ensure accurate billing and reimbursement.
• Review surgical coding submissions and manage denials to maximize revenue capture and compliance.
• Bridge coding operations with the reimbursement process to drive efficiency.
• Design and deliver educational programs that elevate documentation practices and coding quality.
• Mentor providers and coding staff as an educational resource for continuous improvement.
• Assess and evaluate educational initiatives to ensure measurable improvements in data quality.
