Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Coding Denials & Appeals Auditor for a fully remote, 6-month contract-to-hire role. The position centers on inpatient denials, DRG validation, and appeals writing to recover appropriate reimbursement.

You will review payer denials, analyze records, and craft clinically grounded appeal letters using Epic and AI-assisted tools, collaborating with coding and revenue-cycle teams. This role offers 100% remote work and growth potential.

Qualifications

• Active coding certification (CCS, CPC, RHIT, RHIA, or equivalent).
• Acute-care/inpatient coding experience.
• Experience reviewing denials and writing payer appeals.
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, DRG and coding standards.
• Strong written communication and analytical skills.
• High School Diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

• Review inpatient and outpatient coding denials from payers.
• Analyze records to identify appeal opportunities.
• Write clear, clinically supported appeal letters.
• Validate DRG, ICD-10, CPT, APC, and MS-DRG coding.
• Document denial and appeal activity in workflows.
• Collaborate with coding, CDI, revenue cycle, and clinical teams.
• Utilize Epic and AI-assisted tools to support appeals.
