Job summary

Duke Health is seeking a Compliance professional for the Patient Revenue Management Organization to implement and maintain compliance programs across the health system. The role emphasizes education, audits, and collaboration with clinical staff to reduce risk and improve documentation and coding practices.

Responsibilities include evaluating regulatory requirements, performing internal audits, and coordinating with Medicare/Medicaid carriers.

Qualifications

• Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, especially Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
• Identify coding and billings risk areas and implement corrective action.
• Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation.
• Collaborate with physicians and internal staff to improve documentation, coding and compliance.
• Communicate with Medicare/Medicaid Carriers and third party payers.

Responsibilities

• Educate providers regarding compliance with government regulations with special attention to Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
• Assist in performing analysis of current situations and recommend priorities and goals for future clinic needs.
• Identify coding and billings risk areas, conduct focused reviews, and implement corrective action as needed.
• Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation on a timely basis.
• Collaborate with physicians and internal staff in development of improved capabilities in documentation, coding, and compliance.
• Review internal controls, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with University, State, and Federal guidelines and policies.
• Respond promptly to external and internal concerns; implementing corrective actions as appropriate.
• Promote Compliance initiatives with clinical faculty and administration.
