Job summary

Duke Health seeks a Compliance Program Specialist within the Patient Revenue Management Organization to implement and maintain compliance programs across the system. The role focuses on education, audits, and risk reduction in revenue cycle functions across Duke Health.

The candidate will collaborate with clinicians and staff to ensure adherence to HIPAA, Medicare, and Medicaid requirements while driving improvements in documentation and coding practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a healthcare admin, HIM, or related field.
• At least four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding, and revenue cycle.
• RHIA/RHIT or CCS certification preferred.
• Experience with DRG/APR-DRG coding is required.

Responsibilities

• Educate providers on compliance with government regulations, including Medicare/Medicaid guidelines.
• Perform routine internal audits and identify coding and billing risk areas.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to improve documentation, coding, and compliance.
• Review internal controls and policies to ensure university, state, and federal compliance.
