Job summary

Duke Health seeks a Compliance professional to implement and maintain programs aligned with the Office of Inspector General work plan, reducing risk through education and internal audits across the health system.

You will educate providers on CMS/Medicare/Medicaid regulations, HIPAA, and Fraud and Abuse; identify coding and billing risk areas, perform focused reviews, and drive corrective actions with physicians and staff to enhance documentation and compliance.

Qualifications

• Four years of administrative experience in compliance, coding and auditing within revenue cycle.
• RHIA, RHIT or CCS is required for coding-related work; CPC, CCS, RHIT, RHIA or CPMA is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain compliance programs in accordance with the OIG work plan to reduce risk.
• Educate providers on government regulations with focus on Medicare/Medicaid, HIPAA, and Fraud and Abuse.
• Identify coding and billing risk areas, perform focused reviews, and implement corrective actions.
• Conduct routine internal audits of provider documentation and collaborate with physicians and staff to improve documentation, coding, and compliance.
• Review internal controls and policies to ensure compliance with university, state, and federal guidelines.
