Job summary

OU Health is seeking an Inpatient Coding Auditor to support remote work in AR, KS, MO, OK, or TX. The role focuses on audits of coder work, education to improve accuracy, and ensuring compliance with coding guidelines.

Positions may be filled at Levels I-III based on experience, education, and certifications (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CPC/CIC). Strong inpatient coding background at an academic center is ideal.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED required.
• Level 1 experience: 1 year inpatient facility coding auditing or DRG validation; 5 years inpatient coding experience.
• Level 2 experience: 3 years inpatient facility coding auditing; 2 years at Academic Health Center.
• Level 3 experience: 5 years inpatient facility coding auditing at Academic Health Center; HFMA CRCR within 6 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs inpatient coding quality reviews (monthly, pre-bill, and DRG validation).
• Performs peer-to-peer auditor reviews.
• Communicates with teams to resolve coding/account issues.
• Responds to coding questions from staff and external coders.
• Initiates rebilling per policy on special projects.
• Audits data quality standards and coding guidelines to ensure current knowledge.

Education
