Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare is seeking an inpatient coder to review, analyze, and code hospital records, selecting ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM/PCS codes as required during the ICD-10 transition. Primary responsibility is inpatient coding within a hospital setting.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, AHIMA‑accredited coding certificate preferred, and at least one year of hospital coding experience. RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA/CPC certifications are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year of hospital coding experience required.
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience preferred.
• RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, CCA, CPC, CPC-A, CPC-H certifications listed are required upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes inpatient medical records to assign ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM diagnoses, ICD-10-PCS procedures; inpatient coding primary responsibility.
