Job summary

Piedmont Healthcare Inc. is seeking a qualified Inpatient Coder to review, analyze, and code hospital inpatient records, selecting ICD-9-CM/ICD-10-CM/PCS codes as applicable to transition to ICD-10. Primary focus is inpatient coding with accuracy and compliance in coding documentation.

Required: GED, AHIMA-accredited coding certificate preferred, and at least 1 year of hospital coding experience. Certifications such as RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA etc. are required or preferred upon hire.

Qualifications

• 1 year hospital coding experience required
• Experience in coding at a multi-hospital organization and remote coding experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and codes documentation for hospital inpatient medical records to select and sequence the appropriate ICD-9-CM diagnosis, ICD-9-CM procedure codes, ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS as applicable to the transition to ICD-10
• Primary coding responsibility is Inpatient Coding
