Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center is seeking an Experienced Inpatient Coding Specialist for a fully remote Florida-based role. The candidate will code and abstract inpatient records using ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS with a target accuracy of 95% and process EPIC and 3M 360 Encompass encoding tasks.

Required are RHIA/RHIT/CCS certification, an associate degree in HIM or coding, and 2 years of ICD-10-CM/PCS experience. Ongoing education and audits are part of the responsibilities.

Qualifications

• RHIA, RHIT, or CCS certification required.
• Associates degree in Health Information Management or Coding program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of ICD-10-CM/PCS coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Code and abstract inpatient charts using ICD-10-CM/PCS with high accuracy.
• Assign principal diagnosis/procedures with appropriate DRG and POA status.
• Update knowledge of coding guidelines and maintain timely communications and audits.
• Complete 30 hours of continuing education annually.
