ACT Inc is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer I to learn and grow in cloud infrastructure, automation, and monitoring. You will work under senior engineers to provision and manage cloud resources, backups, and observability in a learning-focused environment.

The role emphasizes Terraform/Ansible, Windows/Linux support, and automated patching with a strong foundation in scripting and automation. A remote-friendly US role may include on-site options in Iowa City.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of infrastructure, systems administration, technical support, networking, scripting, automation or cloud technologies.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code concepts and tools like Terraform or Ansible; basic AWS exposure.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage cloud infrastructure and backups in AWS; apply AI-assisted tooling for diagnostics.
• Build and provision cloud infra with Terraform, Ansible, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify gaps, pursue automation improvements, and document runbooks and SOPs.
