QED is a tech company focused on public health, agricultural development, and education in Sub-Saharan Africa. We build digital infrastructure and AI used at the intersection of aid and scientific inquiry, including surveillance of HIV and malaria and nutrient analysis of crops and soils.

The Innovation Lab seeks an infrastructure engineer to prototype and deploy quickly. The role can be remote with periodic visits; full-time preferred but part-time possible.

Formación

• 3+ years of infrastructure experience.
• Automation / declarative mindset.
• Broad knowledge of Linux internals, networking, databases, hardware performance, containers, performance tuning, security.
• Experience with Kubernetes.
• Experience with Linux-based system administration for companies and data centers.
• Strong software engineering background, including version control, readable code and tests.
• Experience optimizing GPU clusters.
• Proficient in speaking, reading, and typing English.
• Ability to communicate across cultures and care about the work.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and maintain computing infrastructure enabling rapid prototyping and deployment in global and localized environments.
• Manage servers and clusters on public cloud, private cloud, and bare metal servers.
• Design, configure, assemble, test, install, and optimize bare metal servers and GPU configurations for LLM deployment.
• Provide advisory input on data centers in developing regions to support data sovereignty.
• Construct monitoring and alerting systems to quickly detect performance lapses.
