Job summary

Focal Systems is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to own and evolve the systems that power our platform at scale. You will architect, build, and operate production infrastructure to support millions of images daily across thousands of locations.

You will design and run cloud-based data pipelines, deployments, and observability. The role involves blue/green and canary releases, Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Python, and Prometheus, with global reliability across geographies.

Qualifications

5+ years in infrastructure, platform, or DevOps engineering.
Production experience with GCP at scale.
Kubernetes, Helm, and Docker in production.
Python – backend code interaction is essential.
Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform.
Observability with Prometheus, metrics and alerting.
Solid CI/CD fundamentals and deployment strategies.

Responsibilities

Design, operate, and continually improve core infrastructure.
Drive reductions in cost and latency while maintaining reliability.
Architect and maintain scalable data-heavy backend infra (Python, FastAPI, Kafka, Docker).
Build and operate deployment pipelines with blue/green and canary releases.
Design and implement monitoring and alerting across geographies.
Create tooling to access data across locations and formats.
Collaborate with backend, deep-learning, and embedded teams.
