Job summary

AlphaX is seeking an experienced Construction Estimator to prepare cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial and industrial projects involving Insulated Metal Panel (IMP) systems. The role requires hands-on IMP estimating, from drawings review and takeoffs to final bid proposals.

Projects include advanced manufacturing and mission-critical facilities; Knoxville/East Tennessee preferred, with remote/work relocation possible for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of construction estimating experience, with 3–5 years direct IMP estimating experience preferred.
• Ability to independently prepare complete estimates, perform takeoffs, and submit bids.
• Experience with advanced manufacturing, mission-critical facilities, or industrial projects is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and competitive bids for commercial/industrial projects involving IMP systems.
• Review drawings, specs, and bid documents to determine scope and installation details.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and calculate labor, material, equipment, and installation costs.
• Develop comprehensive bid proposals with pricing, scope inclusions/exclusions, and assumptions.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, and requirements that affect accuracy or profitability.
• Request and evaluate supplier quotations for material costs and pricing.
• Coordinate with general contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to clarify requirements.
• Maintain estimating records, cost breakdowns, and bid documentation to meet deadlines.
• Review estimates for accuracy, completeness, and alignment with drawings/specifications.
