Job summary

Illumio is seeking a Network Security Engineer for a remote 6-month contract, ideally aligned to CST/MST time zones. The role focuses on Illumio micro-segmentation, firewall modernization, cloud security in GCP, and enterprise network design across on-prem and cloud environments.

You will lead policy lifecycle for Illumio, implement security architecture, automate tasks with Python/PowerShell/Bash, and collaborate with security, cloud, and application teams to deliver resilient solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong enterprise routing, switching fundamentals (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, VRFs)
• Experience with Palo Alto Firewalls / Panorama in large environments
• L4–L7 load balancing and application delivery via F5/NetScaler
• Terraform IaC for network/security infra across OnPrem/GCP
• Automation scripts using Python/PowerShell/Bash
• Ability to communicate designs and tradeoffs clearly to stakeholders

Responsibilities

• Migrate to Illumio micro-segmentation and manage policies
• Upgrade load balancer tech: Citrix ADC/F5 for app delivery
• Operate and secure Palo Alto networks across environments (GCP/on-prem)
• Design and optimize enterprise network/security architectures
• Develop automation tooling to validate configurations and remediate issues
• Contribute IaC work using Terraform across OnPrem and GCP
• Collaborate with security, cloud, and app teams; create runbooks and diagrams
