Job summary

Symbotic is seeking an ICS Technical Program Manager, R&D to lead Industrial Controls workstreams for strategic customer NPI programs, aligning engineering, product, manufacturing, suppliers, and operations to deliver production-ready automation systems safely, on time, and within budget.

You’ll manage budgets, schedules, risk registers, and vendor relationships, lead reviews, and support prototype builds, FAT/SAT, pilot runs, and site commissioning, with up to 30% travel.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of related experience or equivalent work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
• Experience delivering electro-mechanical, robotics, automation, or industrial systems through the full NPI lifecycle.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, scopes baselines, integrated master schedules, and risk registers.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Industrial Controls workstream execution for strategic customer NPI programs.
• Maintain budgets, baselines, integrated master schedules, and program plans.
• Own relationships with external controls vendors and systems integrators with SOW governance and milestone tracking.
• Build and manage risk registers and drive mitigations.
• Coordinate across Product, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Internal Tools Software, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Field Operations.
• Lead technical reviews, design reviews, gate reviews, and executive status reviews.
• Support prototype builds, validation, system integration, FAT/SAT, pilot builds, site commissioning, BOM releases, and configuration management.
