Qualifications

• High school diploma required; professional coding certifications preferred.
• CCS or CPC or HCS-D certification required or strongly preferred.
• Experience with ICD-10-CM and CPT coding conventions relevant to home health or hospice.

Responsibilities

• Review complex medical records and code primary/secondary diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10-CM.
• Sequence diagnoses and abstract data for appropriate reimbursement.
• Educate physicians on coding practices and conventions.
• Coordinate with nursing staff for documentation accuracy and completeness.
• Maintain knowledge of regulatory standards and reimbursement guidelines.
