Job summary

The ACLU Immigrant Rights Project is seeking a Summer Legal Intern to gain hands-on exposure to impact litigation and civil rights advocacy. The intern will work closely with attorneys to develop cases, draft legal documents, and perform policy research relevant to immigrants’ rights across multiple jurisdictions.

Qualified applicants are currently enrolled in a U.S. law school and must be based in the United States for the duration of the internship.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at a U.S. law school and based in the U.S. for the entire internship.
• Genuine interest in immigrants’ rights and civil liberties, and commitment to social justice.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, legal-research oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Draft memoranda, affidavits, and briefs for case development.
• Conduct legal and policy research across jurisdictions.
• Research and draft materials for public education and outreach.
• Track and analyze pending legislation and policy developments.
