Job summary

Intermedia, a leading cloud communications and collaboration provider, is seeking a senior DevOps/Platform/Release engineer to lead automation, infrastructure, and deployment strategy. The role is primarily remote with occasional visits to the Coimbra office as needed to collaborate with teams.

You will guide Windows and Linux platforms, design scalable CI/CD pipelines, and mentor engineers while shaping architecture documentation and runbooks to improve reliability and performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 7+ years in DevOps / SRE / Infrastructure Engineering with leadership.
• Expert-level Windows Server HA and clustering experience.
• Strong Linux administration and automation.
• Advanced Terraform and Ansible skills.
• Experience with Octopus Deploy and GitHub release governance.
• Monitoring with VictoriaMetrics and/or Prometheus.
• Production experience with Redis, RabbitMQ, Nginx HA.
• Networking and security fundamentals knowledge.
• Ability to lead cross-team initiatives and communicate clearly.
• Kubernetes and container ecosystems (Docker, Helm).

Responsibilities

• Act as technical lead for DevOps/Platform/Release engineering.
• Architect end-to-end delivery: infra provisioning, CI/CD, release processes.
• Design and support Windows high availability and clustering.
• Lead Linux automation and platform standardization.
• Own IaC strategy with Terraform.
• Own automation strategy with Ansible.
• Build deployments using Octopus Deploy, GitHub and Ansible.
• Mature CI/CD pipelines with policy-as-code.
• Establish observability with VictoriaMetrics/Prometheus.
• Provide production leadership: incident response and RCAs.
• Mentor engineers and raise engineering quality.
• Produce architecture docs, runbooks, and platform roadmaps.
