Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated seeks an Epic Operational Database Administrator (ODBA) to lead the installation, performance, and reliability of the Epic IRIS ODB in Azure for a national reference lab environment.

The position is hybrid, requiring 3 days on-site at Schaumburg, IL or Secaucus, NJ, with option for 100% remote if criteria are met. Expect uptime stewardship, upgrades, and HIPAA/CLIA compliance.

Qualifications

• Active Epic ODBA Certification required with track record across Epic releases.
• 7+ years in InterSystems Cache/IRIS DB environments for enterprise systems.
• 4+ years hosting Epic DB workloads in Azure with HA/DR experience.
• Strong Unix/Linux administration and automation scripting.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and provision Epic database environments in Azure.
• Operate IaC with Terraform for scalable, consistent builds.
• Tune memory, I/O, and queries for high throughput workloads.
• Manage backups, DR, failovers, and disaster recovery planning.
• Coordinate with Epic Support and InterSystems for maintenance windows.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations for critical incidents.
