Hanwha Qcells USA Corp (Qcells USA) invites applications for an HV Designer - Level 1 in Houston, TX. The role supports the E&C team, focusing on HV substation and transmission design. The position offers a remote schedule with office coordination from Houston and a Monday–Friday workweek.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering degree and AutoCAD proficiency, with up to two years of HV design experience and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• An associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Entry level or up to 2 years of engineering design experience in the high voltage substation or transmission.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD is required.
• Strong command of English language both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed HV substation or transmission drawings.
• Substation experience with equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, trench sections, general arrangement and elevations.
• Transmission line drawings including Plan & Profiles, structures, phasing, and KMZ routes.
• Prepare drawings for civil and structural elements of substation or transmission design as needed.
• Prepare various reports such as bill of materials and basis of design.
