Job summary

NetHope invites applicants to a part-time, remote Humanitarian AI Research Fellowship spanning mid-November 2026 to February 2027. Fellows work in one of two streams—AI Adoption & Governance or AI Systems & Localization—assessing real-world AI use in humanitarian contexts and developing practical outputs for member organizations and partners.

Participants receive a stipend, pass an OFAC screening, and are credited as named authors.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates have strong writing and analytical skills.
• Interest in responsible AI for humanitarian impact is required.
• Mid-career to seasoned practitioners welcome.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent research within one of two streams and produce findings.
• Document lessons, risks, and governance considerations for AI in humanitarian work.
• Collaborate with NetHope experts and adhere to data protection and disclosure policies.
