Job summary

AlphaGov, a public-sector consulting firm, seeks an experienced HRIS and Payroll Systems Consultant for remote, project-based work with public agencies across the United States. This remote-first role includes occasional client travel and requires hands-on HRIS implementation leadership.

You will review HR, time, payroll, and position-control processes, plan configurations, data conversion, and parallel testing, and help integrate with finance and benefits vendors for go-live readiness.

Qualifications

• Hands-on HRIS or payroll-system implementation for an employer with complex pay rules.
• Experience with employee data conversion, parallel payroll testing, and cutover.
• Familiarity with position control, time entry, and earnings/deduction setup.
• Able to name the HRIS or payroll product you delivered.
• Comfortable as a 1099 project-based collaborator, with occasional client travel.

Responsibilities

• Support HRIS and payroll-system pursuits and, when awarded, the related implementation or assessment work.
• Review agency HR, time, payroll, and position-control processes against the system being proposed.
• Plan configuration, parallel payroll testing, and conversion of employee and position data.
• Identify integrations with finance, timekeeping, and retirement or benefits vendors.
• Contribute system qualifications and past-performance narrative to proposals only when naming is authorized.
• Support agency payroll parallel runs and go-live readiness.
• Separate what you have implemented from what you have only advised on.
