Job summary

Sibelco Group in Charlotte, NC seeks an experienced HR Business Partner to provide strategic and tactical HR support to management and staff across locations. The role requires close alignment with operations and a focus on staffing, performance, compensation, training, and employee relations.

You will partner with leadership to implement HR programs, manage staffing metrics, and ensure compliance with applicable laws. Domestic travel up to 35% may be required as part of partner activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a 4-year accredited college or university.
  • 7–10 years of HR business partner experience, with at least 5 years at senior level.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the Company, from front-line employees to senior leadership.
  • Strong consultative and customer-service skills, with the ability to perform as a trusted advisor.
  • Knowledge of California employment and wage laws.
  • Discretion and independent judgment; ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to set priorities and respond to changing demands from multiple sources.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

  • Ensure compliance with HR policies and labor laws.
  • Develop internal/external relationships and model ethical standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and tactical human resources business partner support to management and employees across multiple locations.

  • Understand the business, be closely aligned with the operations management team, and serve as a trusted advisor.
  • Support the implementation and administration of HR programs and processes including but not limited to:
    • Strategic staffing, succession planning and talent management, and performance management.
    • Compensation and benefits management and training.
    • Employee training and development as set out in the HR training strategy.
    • Employee relations matters including coaching and counseling managers and employees to improve performance, conducting confidential workplace investigations and actively managing performance issues to resolution.
  • Identify workforce requirements in consultation with business leaders and drive programs for talent attraction and retention with the HR team.
  • Partner effectively with the HR and functional teams to ensure business needs are met.
  • Lead and/or execute HR projects and initiatives to drive the business forward.
  • Ensure compliance with the Company’s HR policies, processes, and practices. Maintain current knowledge of federal, state (especially California) and local employment practices and labor laws.
  • Exercise influence through ongoing development of internal/external relationships across the organization.
  • Role model of the Company’s ethical standards, professionalism, and code of conduct.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline from a 4-year accredited college or university.
  • Seven (7) to ten (10) years of HR business partner with at least five (5) years of experience.
  • Ability to work with all levels of the Company, from front-line employees to senior leadership.
  • Strong consultative and customer-service skills, with the ability to perform as a trusted advisor.
  • Ability to problem solve and proactively offer a variety of options and solutions to issues.
  • Strong knowledge of California employment and wage laws required.
  • Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and to respond to changing demands from multiple sources.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze data.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaborate as a team member.
  • Highly proficient in working independently in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Potential travel up to 35% to domestic locations.
