Job summary

Low Income Housing Institute (LIHI) is seeking a Compliance Manager to oversee tenant eligibility, policy documentation, and audits across multiple LIHI properties in Seattle. The role includes supervising staff and coordinating with Area Managers to ensure regulatory compliance and accurate reporting for funding sources.

You will lead annual certifications, monitor vacancies, and support lease-up efforts while staying current on tax credit, HUD, Section 8 requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree or equivalent housing industry compliance experience.
• Experience with low-income communities.
• Knowledge of Fair Housing and Landlord/Tenant laws.
• Professional, clear and concise oral and written communication skills.
• Must have access to reliable transportation.
• Must pass criminal background checks and drug screening.
• Able to work remotely and in an office environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual reports to regulatory agencies and funders.
• Develop and document LIHI policies for tenant eligibility and income-certification.
• Coordinate internal and external audits for tenant files to ensure compliance.
• Conduct on-site trainings and file audits for compliance.
• Act as an information resource for compliance and occupancy matters.
• Assist with responses to compliance requests from funders as needed.
• Monitor portfolio vacancies and assist with solutions to delayed vacancies.
• Ensure correct forms and procedures are used for subsidy programs, LIHTC compliance.
• Stay current on tax credit, HUD, Section 8 and occupancy requirements.
• Provide leadership at assigned sites for annual certifications.
• Assist in lease-up of newly constructed, renovated or acquired properties.
• Audit properties for compliance with applicable laws and funder requirements.
• Other duties as assigned.
