Job summary

CarePlus Health Plans is seeking a Senior Hospital Contracting Strategist to initiate, negotiate, and execute contracts for physicians, hospitals, and other providers. You will report to the Director, Provider Contracting and lead complex negotiations across payer groups.

The role requires extensive managed care experience, strong financial analysis skills, and proficiency with standard MS Office tools. Remote work with periodic travel is possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years hospital negotiation experience.
• 5+ years progressive network management with hospital contracting.
• Experience negotiating managed care contracts with hospital systems.
• Ability to analyze financial impact of contract terms and reimbursement.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations for hospital and health system agreements, including reimbursement, contract terms, amendments, renewals, and value-based agreements.
• Extensive managed care experience with hospital contracting, reimbursement methodologies, financial analysis, complex negotiations, and provider relationship management.
• Evaluate reimbursement methodologies, DRG/PD/Case Rates/POC, and alternative payment arrangements.
• Partner with Finance, Legal, Network Management, Claims, and Operations to ensure contracts are financially sound and operationally executable.
• Communicate contract terms and payment structures to providers; analyze financial impact of contracts.
• Maintain contracts and documentation within a tracking system; identify and recruit providers based on network needs.
