Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Facility Coding Quality professional to support high-risk topics identified via Risk Mitigation and ensure accurate professional and hospital coding across the enterprise. The role requires AHIMA or AAPC certification (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCS-P/CPC) and at least five years of expert-level coding experience in hospital settings.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• AHIMA/AAPC certification such as RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P, or CPC is required.
• 5 years of expert-level professional or hospital-based coding experience.
• Strong knowledge of ICD, CPT, HCPCS and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop and maintain coding guidance and reference materials.
• Coordinate coding quality audits and track findings and risks.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Prepare summaries and materials for leadership and audits.
• Partner with coding leadership to improve documentation and accuracy.
• Support regulatory and quality projects; ensure policy adherence.
• Respond to inquiries related to coding guidance and audits.
• Support testing and workflow updates for coding quality initiatives.
