Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a detail-oriented professional coder to join the Integrity Operations team. This full-time role focuses on facility and professional coding quality, with strong emphasis on auditing, documentation improvement, and regulatory compliance across AHIMA and AAPC standards.

The position supports remote work for eligible states and requires 5 years of hospital-based coding experience, AHIMA/AAPC credentials, and advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education and experience required.
• 5 years of expert-level professional or hospital-based coding experience.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements to support accurate and compliant Professional and Hospital coding practices.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings.
• Analyze coding quality data and identify trends for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality initiatives.
• Collaborate with leadership, clinicians, and education teams to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
