Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a dedicated Full-time Revenue Cycle professional for Integrity Operations: Facility Coding Quality. This remote role focuses on inpatient coding quality, risk mitigation, and compliant coding practices across Professional and Hospital coding.

The position requires 5+ years of expert-level professional or hospital-based coding experience, advanced ICD/CPT/HCPCS knowledge, and strong data analysis skills to identify trends and drive improvements. Travel is possible.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of expert-level professional coding or hospital-based coding experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
• Advanced knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Strong ability to identify coding quality issues and provide improvement recommendations.
• Ability to analyze trends and present data in a clear reporting format.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements for accurate and compliant Professional and Hospital coding practices.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance, standard work, reference materials, and position statements for enterprise consistency.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits, track findings, and document corrective actions.
• Analyze coding quality data and audit results to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare summaries and materials for leadership reviews and quality initiatives.
• Partner with Integrity Operations, coding leadership, clinicians, and education teams to improve documentation quality and coding accuracy.
• Support regulatory, compliance, and quality-related projects ensuring adherence to AHIMA standards.
