Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking an experienced Facility/Hospital Based Inpatient Coder to join the Enterprise Revenue Cycle – Integrity Operations team. This full-time remote role focuses on coding quality, auditing, and compliance across professional and hospital coding practices.

You will research regulatory requirements, develop guidance, coordinate audits, analyze trends, and prepare leadership reports while collaborating with clinicians and education teams. Travel is required.

Qualifications

• 5 years of expert-level professional coding or hospital-based coding experience.
• Advanced knowledge of ICD, CPT, and HCPCS guidelines.
• Remote workforce operations experience and strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Research, interpret, and apply coding, payer, and regulatory requirements.
• Develop, maintain, and update coding guidance and reference materials.
• Coordinate and support coding quality audits and track findings.
• Analyze coding quality data to identify trends and risks.
• Prepare summaries and reports for leadership and quality initiatives.
• Partner with clinicians and education teams to improve documentation quality.
