PeaceHealth is seeking a Billing/Follow-Up Specialist for Hospital Billing in a 100% remote, full-time day-shift role. You will investigate denied or unpaid hospital claims, coordinate with insurers, and prepare appeals to ensure timely patient care and accurate hospital payments.

Candidates should have at least two years in medical billing, knowledge of payor requirements, and strong attention to detail. This remote role requires residence within Oregon, Washington, or Alaska and the ability to

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of experience in medical billing, hospital billing, insurance claims follow-up, or accounts receivable follow-up.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of insurance billing processes, reimbursement guidelines, and payor requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with minimal supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Keyboarding and 10-key skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve denied, rejected, or unpaid hospital claims.
• Contact insurance companies to determine claim status and secure appropriate payment.
• Prepare and submit appeals for denied or underpaid claims.
• Research reimbursement issues and work toward timely resolution.
• Review account balances, missing payments, recoupments, and payment discrepancies.
• Track and manage a daily workload of assigned accounts.
