Sharecare is a remote, full-time position focusing on quality control of electronic medical records to ensure HIPAA compliance and proper release of information. The role requires attention to detail and reliability in a fast-paced environment.

The Quality Control Specialist will review records, determine legal rights to release information, mentor new staff, and ensure adherence to ROI and HIPAA regulations across the organization.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in a medical record setting.
• Required to pass an industry related course and exam within six months of hire.
• Maintain privacy of all patient, employee, and volunteer information per HIPAA.
• Comply with all HIPAA regulations and ROI requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ability to check electronic records for HIPAA compliance, compliance with request and authorization limits.
• Ability to review a document and determine if we have the legal right to release medical records based on HIPAA rules and regulations.
• Communicate questions/issues to Lead/Supervisor.
• Work as a mentor to new employees.
• Adhere to state and Federal Laws for Release of Information (ROI).
