Job summary

Sharecare is seeking a Quality Control Specialist to review electronic medical records and perform quality control to ensure HIPAA compliance. The role requires very high attention to detail and consistent, high-quality output.

Responsibilities include verifying release of information under HIPAA rules, mentoring new staff, and collaborating with the team while upholding state and federal privacy laws. This is a remote, full-time position based in the United States.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months previous experience in a medical record setting.
• Must pass an industry related course and exam within six months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ability to check electronic records for HIPAA compliance, compliance with request and authorization limits
• Ability to review a document and determine if we have the legal right to release medical records based on HIPAA rules and regulations
• Communicate questions/issues to Lead/Supervisor
• Work as a mentor to new employees
• Adhere to state and Federal Laws for Release of Information (ROI)
• Maintain privacy of all patient, employee, and volunteer information and access such information only on an need to know basis for business purposes.
