Job summary

CampusWorks is seeking experienced finance professionals to serve as Interim Controllers / Finance Consultants on a flexible, project-based basis. Remote work with occasional on-site visits, 10-30 hours per week, and assignments ranging from a few weeks to several months.

You will lead finance teams, manage accounting and reporting, advise on policies, and help clients strengthen internal controls and processes. Prior higher education finance leadership, ERP experience, and a degree are required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in higher education finance, accounting, or business office leadership
• Prior role as a Controller, CFO, or Director of Finance strongly preferred
• Hands-on experience with higher ed ERP systems (Banner, Colleague, Workday, or Jenzabar)
• Bachelor’s degree required; CPA or MBA preferred

Responsibilities

• Serve as Interim CFO or Finance Director and lead the finance staff
• Conduct accounting, financial reporting, and analysis while overseeing daily operations
• Advise on policies, programs, and procedures for financial operations and prepare statements
• Oversee current finance projects and priorities; assess department efficiency
• Provide finance consulting to higher education clients on various topics
• Guide finance system optimization using ERP platforms like Banner, Colleague, Workday, or Jenzabar
