Job summary

Texas Connections Academy is seeking a High School Advisory Teacher to support students and families remotely from a home-based Texas location. You will guide course selection, graduation requirements, and credit tracking while partnering with counselors to establish student support processes.

You will collaborate with a SST and school teams to identify at-risk students, maintain PLPs, and coordinate records. The role may require some travel and occasional evening hours as needed.

Qualifications

• Texas teacher certification in a secondary content area.
• Must hold or be willing to immediately obtain TxVSN Certification.
• Strong technology skills (Microsoft Office & Google Suite).
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Highly organized and punctual; customer-focused.
• Willing to travel 15–20% for school-related business; occasional evenings.

Responsibilities

• Advise students and families related to academics.
• Keep current on graduation requirements and communicate to stakeholders.
• Assist with course selection based on state credit requirements.
• Advise on dropping courses and schedule changes per policies.
• Review transcripts and ensure accuracy in the online system.
• Coordinate with school records and data transfers as needed.
• Develop crisis prevention and student support plans with the SST.
• Coordinate a team of teachers to identify at-risk students and act as main contact.
• Oversee and maintain the Personal Learning Plan for each student.
• Support families through withdrawal processes and data collection.
