Job summary

Texas Connections Academy seeks a Remote Secondary Technology Teacher to deliver synchronous instruction and support for grades 3-12 in Texas. The role uses the Pearson Online Classroom to engage students, diagnose learning needs, and provide interventions while coordinating with families and teachers.

You will manage student learning plans, communicate regularly with parents, and contribute to a virtual school community. A TX teaching certification and TxVSN readiness are required.

Qualifications

• Highly qualified and certified to teach in Texas in the appropriate subject area (must hold valid certification).
• Must hold or be willing to immediately obtain TxVSN Certification
• Strong technology skills with Microsoft Office and Google Suite
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
• Highly organized and punctual
• Student and family focused approach
• High degree of flexibility
• Demonstrated ability to work well in fast paced environment

• Strong interpersonal skills with diverse backgrounds
• Ability to travel 15-20% for school-related business; may require overnight travel

Responsibilities

• Deliver synchronous instruction and support students remotely.
• Manage a homeroom of students if required.
• Provide feedback, progress reports and parent conferences.
• Coordinate with parents, students and teachers to update learning plans.
• Attend required school events and coordinate with staff for field trips and activities.
