Job summary

Manatee Physician Alliance is seeking a Scheduler to manage outpatient procedure scheduling and pre-registration processes. You will verify insurance, collect patient information, and coordinate with physicians and staff to ensure smooth patient flow in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires excellent communication, strong data entry skills, and familiarity with healthcare billing and HIPAA privacy standards.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• At least 1 year in healthcare data entry or front desk work.
• Experience with data entry, customer service, and medical terminology preferred.
• Understanding of third‑party requirements and healthcare billing is beneficial.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy standards is preferred.
• Ability to use word processing and patient accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for outpatient procedures per guidelines and department specs.
• Guide physicians, office staff, and patients through scheduling steps.
• Confirm appointments and coordinate with relevant departments for coverage.
• Complete pre-registration and insurance verification accurately and timely.
• Obtain and enter diagnosis/CPT codes for insurance authorization.
• Maintain pre-services documentation for regulatory compliance.
