Job summary

Optum is seeking a Healthcare Consultant in Network Strategy & Analytics to drive pricing models, cost trend analyses, and contract negotiations remotely across the U.S. You will partner with contracting, finance, actuarial, and clinical teams to deliver data-driven decisions.

The role requires 2+ years in healthcare pricing or analytics, strong Excel and SQL skills, and excellent written and verbal communication. Travel requirement is minimal; remote work from anywhere in the U.S.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of analytical experience in healthcare pricing, managed care, provider reimbursement, network contracting, finance, or healthcare analytics
• 2+ years of experience working with healthcare claims and reimbursement methodologies
• 2+ years of advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, and financial modeling
• Knowledge of provider payment methodologies including fee-for-service, DRG, APC, percent of billed charges, Medicare-based reimbursement, and value-based payment models
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams

Responsibilities

• Analyze provider reimbursement, pricing model development, and financial impact to support network strategy and contract negotiations
• Manage unit cost tracking and reimbursement entries and align with negotiation outcomes
• Analyze large healthcare datasets to monitor cost, utilization, reimbursement, and market trends
• Develop SQL queries, analytical models, dashboards, and automated reporting tools
• Ensure pricing and reimbursement methods are accurate, transparent, and statistically sound
• Support cost containment, network optimization, and operational performance initiatives
• Present findings to leadership and partner with cross-functional teams
• Standardize repeatable processes for scalability
