Job summary

Optum is looking for a Senior Consultant to support payment model implementation contracts, focusing on analytics and policy analysis. The role is primarily remote within the U.S., but candidates in Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. must work in-office at least four days a week.

The ideal candidate will have over 6 years of experience with SQL, R, Python, or SAS and a solid background in federal health policy issues. You’ll engage with clients, lead operations, and contribute to innovative solutions that improve healthcare services.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in SQL, R, Python, or SAS.
• 4+ years on federal health policy issues, including Medicare and Medicaid.
• Ability to convey complex information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading cross-functional project teams.
• Familiarity with value-based payment programs.

Responsibilities

• Engage and develop client relationships through consultation.
• Lead payment model operations for value-based care initiatives.
• Conduct financial analysis and calculate quality metrics.
• Mentor staff to enhance their analytical skills.
