Job summary

Healthcare Dive editors seek a curious, collaborative journalist to identify, edit and write daily stories covering health insurers, hospitals, and health IT. You’ll shape coverage, plan projects, and cultivate sources for data‑driven storytelling.

Reporting to the senior managing editor, you will manage deadlines, edit diverse formats, and mentor freelancers while advancing thoughtful insights for executives and readers alike.

Qualifications

• Experience covering healthcare sector or related life sciences
• Excellent project management and collaboration
• Interest in innovative storytelling formats or data visualization
• Familiarity with publishing daily email newsletters
• Ability to build relationships with sources and report on complex subjects
• Solid understanding of economic forces in the designated beats
• Experience reading earnings reports and spotting information for executives
• Experience working with freelancers, assigning and editing their work

Responsibilities

• Identify, edit and write daily stories and features that lead our reporting on healthcare topics
• Collaborate with the team to plan and execute stories and big projects
• Elevate all types of stories, from breaking briefs to in‑depth trend analyses
• Assist in planning and executing large projects and initiatives
• Write, cultivate sources and pitch stories on your beat
