Job summary

Wilmington Health is seeking a Coding Specialist to guide insurance coding protocols, ensure regulatory compliance, and train clinic staff. The role involves serving as a technical resource for coding/billing, updating fee schedules, and auditing E/M findings on a monthly basis.

A CPC/CCS-P certification and 3–5 years of health insurance coding experience are preferred. The analyst will support across departments, help develop policies, and address coding issues with physicians and staff.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years health insurance coding experience.
• Certified Coder (CPC, CCS-P).
• Abstract coding experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and instruction regarding insurance coding protocol to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Serve as a technical resource for coding and billing regulations for provider services.
• Assist in formulating policies and procedures regarding coding and billing to ensure consistency and compliance across all clinic departments.
• Interact with medical staff and clinic staff to ensure quality and consistency with coding and billing policies.
• Perform quality control reviews of internal audits.
• Identify and address significant coding/billing issues with clinic staff; develop and execute action plans.
• Educate and train clinic staff and medical staff.
• Review and update clinic fee schedule on an annual basis.
• Review and update encounter forms/charge tickets on an annual basis.
• Perform Evaluation and Management (E/M) profiling on a monthly basis.
