Job summary

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Health Information Technician to analyze patient records, ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, and coordinate with clinicians to maintain accurate documentation. The role requires an AS in a healthcare-related discipline; RHIT/RHIA preferred, and strong Microsoft Office skills.

This hybrid, primarily remote position requires residency within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus.

Qualifications

• Associate of Science degree in a healthcare related discipline is required.
• RHIT or RHIA certification preferred; HIT program students considered until degree completion.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, change-driven production environment with an emphasis on quality.

Responsibilities

• Analyze patient data to ensure compliance with Federal/State and Joint Commission and CMS regulations.
• Coordinate with clinicians to ensure complete, timely documentation.
• Communicate professionally through written and verbal interactions; provide excellent customer service.
